Frank G. Berlin, Sr.

This nearly 75,000-square-foot branch was expanded and remodeled in 2002. It is centrally located within a short distance to all areas of northern Sarasota County and downtown. This branch has activities for every member of your family to enjoy. Upon entering the Amicus Center, you’ll find a large cardio and strength and conditioning area with an extensive free weight component. Childcare is available during certain times of the day for a 2 hour use while parents workout with their beepers handy for emergencies. There is something for every fitness level with many televisions to tune into and become distracted---a real component of exercise today by many individuals.

Adjacent is an indoor aquatic center and spa with a therapeutic pool. Classes are offered in both pools. Lap and free swimming are encouraged.

There are two large studios where more than 100 classes are taught with all the latest group exercise techniques from tai chi to various aerobic methods. The spinning room with visual and sound enhancements is always a popular spot.

Next-door is the Sudakoff Gymnastic Center where hundreds of young girls and boys train and attend classes daily.

The Gymnasium is located next to the Sudakoff Gymnastics Center and is the site where youth and adults of all ages enjoy a variety of indoor sports. Basketball and volleyball leagues for various ages run all year round. Did you know that basketball was invented by the YMCA back in the 1800s?

The Bari Brooks Center is the final building in Berlin’s extensive campus. This center allows teens to enjoy spending time with their friends in a safe and drug-free environment after school and on weekends. The center includes foosball tables, air hockey, ping-pong, and pool tables where many compete in tournament play. The center also has a DJ station with a dance floor that allows for dancing to a state-of-the-art sound system complete with special light effects and smoke machines. There is also a room for DVD/VHS movie play and another room for computer work and homework. A third room serves as a Youth Fitness Center for those ages 7-13 to do strength and conditioning with age appropriate equipment.

There is truly something for everyone!
