Make a cash gift. A gift to help a young child learn to read or participate in a sport can be made by calling us
at (941) 951-1336. Your credit card gift can be accepted by telephone.
Some gifts may be matched. Thousands of companies have Matching Gift programs which double, or even triple individual,
tax-deductible contributions made by their employees and in some cases, retirees. At the time of the gift, ask us if
your company participates. (A list of matching companies can be put on line at some later date.)
GIFTS OF STOCKS OR BONDS

A charitable gift of stocks or bonds provides an opportunity for tax savings while generously sharing with others. A gift of stock owned for more than a year
entitles you to a charitable deduction for the full market value at the time the gift is made. If the stock has appreciated, you also avoid a capital gains tax
on the appreciation. In this way you also accomplish your own goal of ridding yourself of low-cost basis, long-term holdings into assets that better suit your
current needs. To discuss a gift of stocks or bonds, please call 941-951-1336.
GIFTS OF PROPERTY ARE GIFTS FOR TODAY AND/OR TOMORROW

A donation of jewelry, furniture, automobile or other valuable possessions can be made to the YMCA Foundation of Sarasota before or after your death. A cadre of
experienced estate sale volunteers will prepare an entire or part of an estate for liquidation. You also may choose to give the entire estate or a portion of the
estate during your lifetime as an outright gift or retain a percentage of the gross sales. Our estate liquidators charge a fair price and donate the proceeds to
the YMCA Foundation. Estate sales can be held on your premise or at our warehouse location.
For some donors, gifts of real estate may be the most convenient way to make meaningful gift. In some cases, real property can be deeded to the YMCA today with
the donor saving the right to continue residence for life. It carries with it a charitable deduction for the gift and no capital gains taxes. There are many methods
you can use to make a gift of your home or other real estate -through a bequest, or more commonly, through lifetime transfer, with significant tax benefits.
Both you and the YMCA benefit!

WILLS AND BEQUESTS

Placing the YMCA Foundation of Sarasota in your Will ensures that programs and/or scholarships will continue into the future. Call or have your estate planner
call The YMCA Foundation at 941-951-1336 for assistance with appropriate wording.
GIFTS OF LIFE INSURANCE

Insurance provides a way to make a substantial contribution to the YMCA - both through the transfer of paid up policies and through designating the YMCA as
beneficiary and continuing to pay the annual premiums until payments are complete. If at any time you find it necessary to discontinue paying premiums, the
Y can either continue paying the premium or receive the cash surrender value of the policy. A donor may take out a new policy naming the YMCA as irrevocable
beneficiary and receive a charitable deduction on the premium payments.
CHARITABLE REMAINDER AND LEAD TRUSTS

These vehicles are formalized with the help of legal counsel. One gives you income now with the gift coming to the YMCA after the termination of the trust; the
other gives the YMCA the income on the principal or property during your life and that principal or property then passes to your heirs or back to you at the
termination of the trust.
