The New Balance Ringling Bridge Run VI – A Family Event was held Saturday, January 24, 2009.

For 2009 we are pleased to be able to offer Child Watch for children whose parents are taking part in the race. Child watch will be held at G.WiZ and drop off will begin at 6:45 a.m. Pick up is 9:30 a.m. Child watch is for children ages 6 months to 11 years old. The service is free, but space is limited and preregistration is required. Please download the form to the left to sign up for this service, or call 955-8194 ext. 195 for more information.
About 2,000 participants are expected for this year’s four-mile race and one-mile family fun run. The post-race family festival held at the start/finish line at the Van Wezel includes games, food vendors, face painting and more activities.
Registration fees will benefit the Bari Brooks Teen Center at the Frank G. Berlin, Sr. Branch of the YMCA. The center is a hangout spot for teens to enjoy spending time with their friends in a safe and drug-free environment. Throughout the school year and summer vacation,the teen center hosts dances, game parties, tutoring and youth fitness sessions.
The age divisions for the four-mile race start at 9 and under and go through 85+. Awards will be given to overall Male & Female Masters and Grand Master and awards are presented six deep in all of the four-mile age categories. All Fun Run participants will receive a ribbon.

18 & Under - $10
Pre-Registrants (by Jan. 16) - $20
Late/Day of Registration - $25
Family Rate* - $50
*2 adults and up to 4 children
There will also be team awards for the 4-mile race including:
- Fastest Team
- Largest Corporate Team
- Largest School Team
- Most Spirited Team
- Best T-shirt of Costumes, Corporate & School Teams
Packet pick up for pre-registrants will be from 4 - 7 p.m., Friday, Jan., 23 at the Frank G. Berlin, Sr. Branch located at 1075 S. Euclid Avenue.
Race Schedule
- 4-mile race: 7:30 a.m.
- Fun Run: 8:30 a.m.
- Family Fun until 11 a.m.
The Ringling Bridge Run is sanctioned by Manasota Track Club.
