The Bank of America Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 grant to the Sarasota Family YMCA for its Home Instruction for Parents of Pre-School Youngsters (HIPPY) Program.
By providing structured, mentor-based literacy programs like HIPPY, the YMCA equips parents, children, families and the community with knowledge, strategies, and skills to challenge barriers faced by families most at risk of educational woes.
The Sarasota Family YMCA is nationally known for innovative programs and outstanding facilities. From youth shelters to fitness centers, we continue to follow our guiding mission in everything we do: We build strong kids, strong families, strong communities. We continue to develop collaborations and core programs to meet the changing needs of the community.
