Wednesday, January 6, 2010 Ben Pinegar Named Executive Director of YMCA’s Evalyn Sadlier Jones Branch

The Sarasota Family YMCA has named Ben Pinegar as the new Executive Director at the Evalyn Sadlier Jones Branch YMCA. Ben started his YMCA career as a camp counselor in Illinois 12 years ago and came to Sarasota in 2006 to open the YMCA’s Welch Family Teen Center.

“I’ve been blessed by many positive experiences with the YMCA since I was 5 years old. I am excited to give other children and families great YMCA memories like I have enjoyed,” Pinegar said.

YMCA President and CEO Paul B. Smith announced Pinegar’s appointment Wednesday.

“I know Ben will be a great leader for the branch and the Sarasota Family YMCA,” Smith said. “His knowledge, experience and commitment to the YMCA will be a great resource to our staff and members.”
