SunTrust donates $5,000 to YMCA Youth Shelter

SunTrust Bank, Southwest Florida Region, generously donated $5,000 to the Sarasota Family YMCA’s Youth Shelter.

Margaret Callihan, Chairman, President and CEO of SunTrust Bank Southwest Florida Region, presented a check to the YMCA’s Executive Committee Wednesday, Dec. 16.

“SunTrust has been a great friend of the YMCA and we appreciate their continuing support,” said Paul B. Smith, President and CEO of the Sarasota Family YMCA.

The YMCA Youth Shelter provides temporary housing and safe care for children ages 10 – 18 who have run away, are experiencing conflict or have been locked out of their homes. The shelter is open and accepts admissions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Those in need of help can call 955-5596 or visit the shelter at 1106 South Briggs Avenue, Sarasota.

We continue to develop collaborations and core programs to meet the changing needs of the community.
