Wednesday, November 26, 2008 Kathleen K. Catlin Fund Awards YMCA Holiday Grant

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Kathleen K. Catlin Fund recently gave a grant of $7,500.00 to the Sarasota Family YMCA for Christmas gifts for the children in foster care at the Sarasota Family YMCA’s annual Foster Angels Holiday Party. The Foster Angels Program distributes foster children’s wish lists to members of the community wishing to supply Christmas for a child. The grant will also be available to ensure that the specific material needs of children in foster care will be met throughout the year.

Foster Angel’s Holiday Party is sponsored by the Safe Children Coalition (SCC). The SCC is a collaboration between the Sarasota Family YMCA and many local community entities who together provide a continuum of child welfare services.
